Properties of a earth-like planet in the habitable zone

• Not too big

  • Avoid accreting material to become gas giant

• Not too small

  • Lose atmosphere

• Not too hot or too cold

  • No liquid water

• Not too close to star

  • Avoid tidal lock

For nearby stars: star-planet separations 0.01-1 arcsec
