• CLPP, DGGE and cloning separate clean sites from polluted areas and show no decrease in richness and diversity for polluted areas

• Iron reduction is the major redox process in the plume. Sink of solid Fe(III) is important for future natural attenuation. Fe(III) reducing Geobacteriaceae are important microorganisms in the plume.
